Summary
Print, engraving of 'The Household Cavalry at Kassassin, 28th Aug 1882', after Richard Caton Woodville the younger (London 1856 - London 1927) - 'Extra supplement to the Illustrated London News, Sept 23 1882'. Unframed. On 28 August 1882 an Egyptian army led by Ahmed Urabi attacked the British troops at Kassassin in order to recapture the Suez Canal. The outcome of the battle was in the balance until the arrival of British reinforcements finally defeated the Egyptian army.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
