Summary
Print, mezzotint, Arthur Blayney (1715-1795) (after Sir William Beechey) by Thomas Hardy (1757–c.1805). Half-length, almost left profile, gazing down, wearing a powdered wig tied at the nape, with a plain collar and the top of a brocaded waistcoat visible beneath a plain coat. Philanthropist; known as the 'Father of Montgomeryshire'.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
