Summary
Blue leather covered wooden travelling writing case. Embossed in Gothic script. P.Y. Inner tray divided into three sections. one with boxes for INK and LIGHT, two is a vacant space, Three is a leather straps for retaining implements, Also contains a pen knife, a button hook, tweezers, a razor marked JOSEPH RODGERS, each implement with bone handle. Case with label HALSTAFF and HANAFORD 228 REGENT ST W.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
