Summary
Base. A square oak base for a cut glass inkwell with a silver lid. With a silver plaque inscribed 'The kind gift of his Mother Francis Lady Brownlow to Lt. Col.Hon. Sir Edward Cust 1836'. 'A commissioner for rebuilding the Houses of Parliament March 17, 1836 Made from part of St.Stephen's Chapel destroyed by fire 10th Oct. 1834'.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
