Scales. A pair of black painted cast iron weighing scales, with a tin plated pan. It is marked on the face 'Class L Salters improved family scale No 50. Silvesters Patent. To weigh 14lb by 1oz'.

Provenance

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
