Summary
A cast iron hall stand, in the manner of the Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry of Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, bearing a design registration lozenge for 10 December 1859. Fitted with a wrythen rail and hooks around a central oval mirror plate, amidst dense foliated scrolls. The lower section divided into two compartments for sticks or umbrellas, and with removable drip-pans.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
