Summary
Clock dial. A dial of an English, early 18th century longcase clock. The arched dial is signed 'Jno. Ratcliffe, Chester', with strike/silent movements, a date aperture and chased gilt metal mask spandrels. The maker was Elizabeth Ratcliffe's father, who also made the coffin plate for Elizabeth Yorke.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
