Summary
A mahogany boot rack, English, early 19th century. Topped by a rail fitted with six pegs (one lacking) above three rails, the central rail fitted with a board (detached) cut-out to take six pairs of boots. Between block- and ring-turned uprights on rectangular-section feet joined by a flat platform stretcher.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
