Summary
An occasional table, the second smallest of a nest of four occasional tables, or quartetto tables, Chinese Export, 19th century. Of softwood, coated in lacquer and with parcel-gilding. Decorated with Chinoiserie motives. The rectangular top raised to each side on four turned and ring turned columnar supports, each on a pair of divergent feet. The rear supports joined by a curving rectangular-section stretcher. This example with iron repairs and the top has been painted over.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
