Summary
An alder and fruitwood chair, English, early 19th century. One of a pair. The toprail with raised centre, and above a horizontal splat formed as a roundel between 'S' scrolls, a further plain horizontal splat below. The seat boarded and raised on chamfered square-section legs joined by peripheral stretchers.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
