Summary
A beech child's high chair, English or Welsh, early 19th century, grained to simulate mahogany. With a simple rectangular toprail above a plain horizontal splat. The boarded shaped seat between open arms and raised to the front on a pair of ring-turned legs, joined by turned stretchers. The front legs pierced for a foot-rest, now detached.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
