Summary
Textile fragment. Fragment of glazed, plain weave cotton, roller printed in black, grey, pale blue, two shades of turquoise, green, two shades of pink, red and two shades of beige. The design is of naturally drawn flower sprays, including polyanthus and cyclamen on a dotted flower and stem ground. The repeat is 45 cm across the loom width. It is lined with pink/cream plain weave glazed cotton with white cotton braid. Circa 1860. The fragment is box pleated into a heading band at one end, edged on one side and cut on two. It is machine chain and lock stitched and hand sewn.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
