Summary
A giltwood, lacquer and gilt metal-mounted occasional table, English, early 19th century, in the manner of Henry Holland (1745-1806) or John Crace (1754 - 1819) or Frederick Crace (1779 - 1859). The lacquered top decorated with Chinoiserie scenes and edged with a gilt metal Gothic arch and quatrefoil gallery. Raised on a lappet-carved and reeded spreading pillar ending in a gadrooned collar. On a triform base with line-carved sides and carved with voided lozenges. The feet scroll and paw-carved.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
