A painted wooden stand, English/Welsh, mid-20th century, supporting an earlier black japanned coffer, English, circa 1700-20 [NT 1147077.1]. With rounded upper edge and flared friezes centred by a pendant point, and raised on four angular cabriole legs and square pad feet.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
