Summary
An upholstered walnut-framed armchair, English, mid-19th century. With button-upholstered back, arms and serpentine-fronted seat. Covered in red repp, with rope piping. Raised on moulded and scrolling front legs, and outswept round-section rear legs. Fitted with metal and white ceramic castors.
Provenance
Listed in an inventory taken at Erddig in 1846 in the Saloon, and in another taken in 1967 in the Drawing Room. Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
