Summary
A burr walnut and walnut Davenport, English, mid-19th century. The slender fixed top fitted with a raised and moulded compartment with hinged, galleried cover. The serpentine-fronted slope with moulded edge and lined with leather and enclosing a bird's eye maple and mahogany-lined interior fitted with three small drawers. Raised on a panelled pedestal fitted with four drawers to one end, and faced as four drawer to the other end, and on curving front supports and on a platform base and bun feet with concealed castors.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
