Summary
A mahogany Canterbury, English, mid-19th century. Of three dividers, or four divisions, the dividers with bowed toprails and raised on slender turned spindles, the sides raised on slats. At each corner an opposing baluster and ring-turned post. All above a drawer [NT 1147013.2] fitted with brass handles and a brass thread escutcheon, and lined with oak. The drawer front mahogany veneered onto softwood. Raised on four turned legs with brass caps and castors.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
