Summary
The first of two upholstered ottomans, joined to form an 'L'-shaped seat, probably estate-made at Erddig, late 19th/early 20th century. This the longer part, the frame of softwood and covered in woolen fabric, the warp and weft dyed blue, green, cream and pink beige. The seat hinged an enclosing a compartment. One loose cushion. Bright polychrome small paisley pattern covering ottoman under top cover.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
