Summary
Silhouette. Frances Bankes, Lady Brownlow (1756 – 1847). Painted in black on reverse of convex glass, Profile to left. Frances Bankes, Lady Brownlow was the daughter of Sir Henry Bankes (1711-1774) an alderman and merchant of London and Frances Pembrooke; married in 1775 as his second wife, Sir Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow of Belton (1744-1807) and brought with her a dowry of £100,000, and a collection of her father's pictures. She also bore him eleven children
