Summary
A child's plate. A member of a porcelain part child's nursery service. It is decorated with transfer printed nursery rhymes and colour illustrations on a white ground. The plate is marked 'BABY'S PLATE', 'SEE-SAW MARGERY DAW JENNY SHALL HAVE A NEW MASTER ...etc.' and 'JACK & JILL WENT UP THE HILL ...etc.'.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
