Medallion, wax, Emperor Napoleon I, Emperor of France (1769–1821) and his son Napoleon-François-Charles-Joseph Bonaparte, later Napoleon II, King of Rome, duc de Reichstadt (1811-1832) by Bertrand Andrieu (Bordeaux 1761 – Paris 1822)One of two wax medallions depicting Napoleon, full length, holding baby aloft. Napoleon is wearing a laurel wreath on his head, and a dress sword around his waist. On the left is a classical font, and on the right a chair, with decorative winged lion motifs, there is a also a bible in the foreground. Inscription on base, 'BAPTEME DU ROI DE ROME/ MDCCCI' also 'ANDRIEU FECIT'.
