Summary
A garden chair, from a set of eight, of painted wood, each of sgabello form, with a shell back above a dished seat and carved front boards. These chairs are made after a seventeenth century design as similar sgabelli shell-back chairs are represented in an oil painting of the gardens at Ham House executed in the 1670s by Henry Danckerts.
