Portrait miniature, watercolour on vellum, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester KG (1533 – 1588) (after Steven van der Meulen) by George Perfect Harding (1780 – Lambeth 1853).Three-quarter-length portrait, turned to right, gazing at the spectator, in a sumptuous steel cuirass, crimson doublet and breeches, black cap with a crimson plume, small high ruff, chain and Lesser George of the Garter. His right hand rests on his waist. Grey eyes, brown hair, moustache and wispy beard, Brown stone wall background lit from the left.
