Portrait miniature, oil painting on card, King Charles XII, King of Sweden (1682-1718) Charles Xll, King of Sweden, 1682-1718 attributed to Axel Sparre (Wisby 1652 - Brokind 1728). Oval. Half-length portrait of a man, turned slightly to the left, head turned slightly t the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a royual blue coat with gold buttons, black neckcloth and black tircorn under his left arm. Grey eyes, bushy grey hair, bald pate, heavy bulvous nose, aged about 15. Black background, lit from the left.
