Summary
Large tin box, painted black and decorated with a repeat print pattern in red. There are two brass plaques on top, the first reads "The Marquis of Hartington." The second smaller plaque reads;"Rogers & Company 8 New Burlington St Savile Row London." There is a paper label on the top, no longer legible and only partially attached. There is a lock front and centre and two latch locks also on the front, one at each end of the box. Handles on two ends. Inside the box is divided into two sections and is lined with copper coloured metal panels, one of which is no longer attached and is loose in the box. There are discoloured newspaper fragments adhered to the base inside. There are a number of metal rings attached inside the box, three of which have red and white cotton webbing ties attached. Inside the box is a bag containing the sale label 2010, two black velvet covered buttons, some metal grips/pins and a printed paper label which reads:"2 Carlton Gardens, Pall Mall, London SW1."
