Summary
One of five applique pilasters from wall hanging, composed of applique fabrics and embroidery. Large volutes above sharply tapered hollow stem on small base. Capital above narrow frieze with triglyph. Artefact has crimson embroidered volute on yellow ground, gold thread over yellow and crimson on stem and capital. French knots around edge of volute. Artefact said to be from Cleopatra hanging (see 1601 Inventory).
