Summary
Rectangular panel of late 16C petit-point needlework with Talbot/Hardwick crest within royal garter in centre. Talbot dog in lower left corner, dog-headed serpent lower right. Ground worked in blue silk, large stem scrolls symmetrically either side with Tudor rose at centre. Upper part of panel shows a towered building in a landscape, birds flying over the roof. Upper left corner - lion and Hardwick crest within wreath containing initials GS and ES. Upper right - stag within similar wreath.
