Summary
A state bed, English, the frame possibly 1629, the blue damask hangings 1852 copies of the (then tattered) originals appliquéd with gilt metal thread embroidery. The tester topped by giltwood finials, the feet carved giltwood paws. The hangings bearing the arms of Christine, wife of the 2nd Earl of Devonshire, her initials, and the date 1629. The arms of the 6th Duke of Devonshire, the cypher 'WSD', and the date 1852 added when the damask was refreshed in the 19th century. Also embroidered with coronets. En suite with NT 1127718 and NT 1127716. 1 - 6.

Transferred to the National Trust from the Treasury in 1984.
