Summary
A painted beech and cane day-bed, English, 20th century, in late 17th/early 18th century style. With one raised end, solid between finial-topped uprights. The seat caned and raised on six block- and spiral-turned legs on turned pear feet, joined by spiral-turned side and cross stretchers. Possibly made to carry an 18th century mattress, stuffed with wool and buttoned with traces of blue brocade cover.
