This painted papier mâché mask appears to be a Chinese Dragon but details are sparse. Its nose is a brass stud and its mouth-piece hangs from a piece of wicker.
Summary
A papier maché mask modelled as a mythical animal head. Painted red, yellow, green and black. With applied hair and a brass stud for a nose. Built off a wicker ring base and hung from a length of white cord, with a length of broken green cord hanging behind (having been used for suspension previously.

Owned by Ernö Goldfinger and Ursula Ruth Blackwell, also known as Mrs Ernö Goldfinger. Purchased by the National Trust in 1994.
