Summary
Two handwritten sheets giving an appreciation of Mrs. George Gibbs' involvement with the Portishead Red Cross and VAD hospitals from formation in 1911 to disbandment in 1919. Signed; Charles Wigan M.D. / Comandant & Med: Officer / Hilda E Wollen M.B.E. / Vice Commandant. These two sheets, outlining the work done for the British Red Cross Society by Mrs. George Gibbs, accompany the handwritten letter (NT11265.5.1). They are listed on the make-shift folder (NT11265.1.1) as; British Red Cross Society (e). Used as source material for (NT3143763) - Via Gibbs - a memoir by Madeline Alston. Both in the foolscap sized paper and linen weave envelope (NT11265.1.1).
