Summary
A bent plywood armchair, English, second quarter 20th century, designed by Ernö Goldfinger, the backrest and seat formed of one section of bent plywood, with oblong armrest supported to the front and rear on circular supports, the supports joined on each side by a single circular stretcher, the two rear supports joined by two circular stretchers, supporting the chair back, the seat surface is painted red, the armrests, supports and stretchers painted blue/grey.
Provenance
Owned by Ernö Goldfinger and Ursula Ruth Blackwell, also known as Mrs Ernö Goldfinger. Purchased by the National Trust in 1994.
