Summary
An oak armoire, English or French, late 19th century, a near copy of the 12th c. armoire at St. Etienne, Aubazines, France, later illustrated in E. E. Viollet-le-Duc, Dictionnaire Raisonné du Mobilier Francais (Paris, 1858). Oak two-door cupboard with drawer beneath; with ornate black metal hinges and stud work decoration. Arched doors with twisted metal circular handles with locks. Cross design in black metal on panel between doors.
