Summary
Internal door leading from the east end of the Great Hall to the Parlour Wing, with a stone door surround, plain chamfered with quirks, with four-centred head and sunk spandrels housing a studded, double-thickness oak door, pin-hung on long fleur-de-lys strap hinges. Emphasising the transition from the ‘public’ to the ‘private’ realm represented by this location, this door (D10) was originally furnished with a further retractable draw-bar for additional security, sockets surviving within the flanking walls to the east.(Description taken from Historic Building Record & Assessment of Wilderhope Manor by Ric Tyler, January 2015)
