on front; Nelly 1 Mama 2 Teddy 13 / Feb 29th 1914 on paper stuck to back of photograph; We have altogether, 6 chicks at 3 weeks / old - 4 at 2 weeks - 5 at 4 days old= / Teddy "bornd" one chick - !!!! when the / last lot we all out but 2. The Mother would not(underlined) / go back to the Nest. So Teddy took on egg - / which had a hole in - and wrapped it up / in fur - in the sun - and after 3 hours it came / out-!! so he feels its his -. we had to / do 2 or 3 like that - becasue 2nd Mother was / very big and kept putting a huge foot over / the ckicks - and nearly squashing the eggs flat. / (2 imprints of chick's foot) Teddy says the chick must make / his mark for you - so this is / its signature!!!! age 4 days - . / (imprint of chick's foot) signature of the / lady of 2 weeks old / (imprint of chick's foot) Lady of 1 week/ old-!! / signature.
