Summary
Costume worn by Ellen Terry as 'Hiordis' in 'THE VIKINGS' at the Imperial Theatre in 1903. Designed by Gordon Craig, and made by Edith Craig. Comprises of an underdress, overdress and stole. Blue wool jersey under-dress and sleeves. Over-dress and sleeves of black cotton net with blue wool tape vertical strips. Hem of blue wool felt with metallic discs and other shapes attached. Interspersed with green leather strips on dress and green grosgrain on sleeves. Beige velvet stole, similarily decoarated at base with ribbon lattice above.
