An early 19th century gilt metal necklace circa 1825 composed of three rows of multi-entwined reeded links on a circular centrepiece mounted with a large opaline glass cabochon in a woven glass bead frame..Worn by Ellen Terry in her role as Cordelia in 'King Lear' in 1892. Provenance
Believed to have been owned by or given to Ellen Terry (1847-1928) or her daughter Edith Craig (1869-1947) and came to the National Trust in 1939 when Edith Craig transferred Smallhythe Place (including buildings, land and contents) to the Trust.
