A square silver locket 1879 probably Indian with repousse decoration depicting an antelope on one side and a lion on the other midst foliage. Containing a photograph of Edith Craig. Given to Ellen Terry by Charles Kelly in 1879 whilst playing in 'Butterfly' (Frou-Frou) (mentioned on page 162 of Ellen Terry's biography 'The Story of My Life'). Provenance
Believed to have been owned by or given to Ellen Terry (1847-1928) or her daughter Edith Craig (1869-1947) and came to the National Trust in 1939 when Edith Craig transferred Smallhythe Place (including buildings, land and contents) to the Trust
