Watercolour on paper heightened with bodycolour, Dame Ellen Terry (1847-1928) as 'Guinevere' in J. Comyns Carr's 'King Arthur' by Sir Bernard Partridge (London 1861 - 1945). Full length portrait, seated on a bench. monogrammed. Inscribed on reverse 'Costume designed by Burne Jones'. 'King Arthur' was performed at the Lyceum Theatre in 1895, with scenery and costumes by Burne-Jones. Partridge provided illustrations for the souvenir book.
