Full description
Research undertaken by volunteer Ernest Noad: Lady Randolph approached Herbert Haseltine herself in 1914 to commission a cast of her hand. There was no involvement with any other party. Haseltine was a well-known artist and sculptor who lived in Paris was born in America in 1877 and died in 1962. He mixed with the great and the good and was well known for his lavish parties in Paris…it’s likely that Lady Randolph knew him very well. She had a plaster cast made of her hand in June 1914 with a jade bracelet on her wrist. This was put aside due to the war. This plaster and/or bronze cast was offered to WSC in a letter from Herbert Haseltine dated July 21st, 1921 after the death of Lady Randolph
