Full description
Made for the occasion of the Queen’s 70th birthday in 1915. The plate was designed by Arnold Krog and 929 copies were made. The Queen’s father was Christian IX of Denmark. (Chartwell also has a second plate of Christian IX). The inscription on the plate – ‘A Welcome to Alexandra’ is by Alfred Lord Tennyson (7/3/1863). Her husband was Edward VII – she was Queen consort.
