Detail of a fluted surbase [referred to in the Christie's list as a cornice, but changed in Leslie Harris's ms catalogue]. Verso in pencil: "Surbase of the Dressing [very faint] room in London". Unsigned and undated. No watermark. Ascribed to George Richardson on the folder in which the drawing was previously stored.

Tentatively attributed to George Richardson for Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale. By descent to Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale. Acquired by gift as part of the transfer of Kedleston Hall to the National Trust in 1986.
