Summary
Lower section of a staircase, attributed to Matthew Brettingham the elder. In ink: "Section of the North side of the Corridore Staircase and Water Closet". Note in pencil in the hand of Lord Curzon: "This seems to be a design for staircase in angle of East Corridor or for a corresponding staircase not executed". Unsigned and undated. Watermark: Britannia.

Attributed to Matthew Brettingham the younger for Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale. By descent to Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale. Acquired by gift as part of the transfer of Kedleston Hall to the National Trust in 1987.
