Summary
One of two electroplate copies of a pair of baroque wine fountains, the lids with putti riding atop dolphins, based on originals which were sold in 1947. The originals are taken from a late 17th century design and probably supplied by Philips Garden for the 1st Lord Scarsdale in the 1750's or 1760's. One of the originals is now in the Getty Museum, the other not traced.
