Summary
A pair of Indian sari. They are red woollen sari heavily embroidered around the edge in gold, which is couched in place. The design is of Kashmir cones and flowers. The gold bands at the sides were woven separately and applied. The fringed end was also applied separately. Sari 879 is a slightly coarser weave than sari 878, and the border is yellow rather than metallic.
