Summary
Patola Sari of silk and cotton partly printed in various colours. Sari of silk cotton gauze-weave having a cream colour central area with striped edges in crimson, yellow, green and white, plus side borders of ikat weave/print. Deep borders at either end with two bands of ikat weave/print and a border of crimson silk. The ends have a self-fringe. Selvedge to both side edges. V & A label attached at one end. Found in Burmese Poongyi Box No.441 (V & A Catalogue 1927). Condition: Very good (possibly unused) condition. Badly creased through storage. Otherwise sound, good colouring.
