Summary
Arabian sword belt of leather, embroidered with coloured silks. The buckle is of silver, partly gilt - according to the V A Catalogue 1927. There are fragments of the sward belt, fragmented due to the poor condition of the leather: leather rot with the edges crumbling and very distorted. The leather is densely embroidered with intricate patterning including roundels and Indian designs. The silver buckle is decorated with filigree work and is in sound condition, though tarnished. The belt still has the original museum label still attached. Found in Burmese Poongyi Box No.441 (V & A Catalogue 1927).
