Summary
Indian ceremonial garland. This is a long garland. In the centre of the front there is a red velvet star shape heavily embroidered with gold bullion and spangles. This is backed with a turquoise and gold brocade silk fabric. The garland itself is made in sections, four either side have the interwoven silver and gold ribbons which look rather like chains. In between there is gold fringing and six faced lozenges. Around the lozenges there is silver and gold fringing. Inside the lozenges, there is a metal support and it is covered with a red satin, heavily embroidered in gold, then the next lozenge has green satin heavily embroidered with gold. The colours alternate around the piece.
