Summary
Possibly a saddle cloth. Length of coarsely woven (hand-woven) striped fabric in neutral, orange, yellow, red and blue, made into a saddle bag with a deep pocket at each end. Made of hessian and wool? The long side edges have been over-sown with coarse orange thread, possibly jute. There is a tufted wool tassel in each corner. Lettering embroidered on reverse "VY2". Found in Burmese Poongyi Box No.441 (V & A Catalogue 1927). Condition: Fairly good condition. Hole in central area. Orange thread loose in places along edge. Generally sound.
