Summary
A carved ivory shrine containing the Mother Goddess (Bhagabati), from Murshidabad, Bengal. She is shown with four arms and sitting on a lion, a symbol of queenly power. There are two attendants on either side of her. The shrine stands on a base, which has a pierced underside.
